More About Your Teachers

Katie Demcio

Ms. Demcio grew up in Mount Airy, NC - a small town in the western half of the state.  She graduated from Mount Airy High School in 2003 and was a very active varsity athlete.  In 2007 Ms. Demcio graduated from Meredith College with a B.S. in Child Development, a minor in psychology, and licenses to teach Birth through Kindergarten and Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.  She is a member of Psi Chi and Kappa Omicron Nu honor societies.  In May 2011 Ms. Demcio will graduate from Meredith College again with a M Ed in Special Education and a license to teach Special Education K-12.

Ms. Demcio now lives in Raleigh, NC with her college roommate and crazy siamese cats Zoe and Bella.  Her favorite things are going to the movies, traveling, building houses with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at The Summit Church and watching the leaves change colors in the fall.  Her dad played football at the University of Tennessee so she is a HUGE VOLUNTEER!  She is so thankful to be teaching kindergarten at Douglas!
